Toradora 21 on hold
td21 on hold?
wait wat?
well, yes, i’m holding td21 as a hostage, the only way for u guys to have this back is doing something for me.
FILL THIS SURVEY and select phantom and hatsukoi in both options.
but why u say?
well about phantom, i just need my phantom in epic BLU-RAY and that’s all i got to say about that.
as far as hatsukoi goes, since we are not doing it, i want a decent tlon of this show, and if funimation is willing to lincense it, i can live with funimation, “better than adv”, the last thing i wanna see is ADV licensing hatsukoi. might aswell watch whatever is being tled already >.> than buy adv stuff.
that being said, if funi licenses hatsukoi BETTER RLS BLU RAYS MOTHERFUCKERS, or i’m gonna stick ur own dvd’s up ur arses
greets/love and all the rest of that BS u know goes after that.
so now u know leechers, i’m holding td21 as a hostage, if u guys dun wanna see td21 get killed, u better help me get what i want
Edit: PLS ANSWER IT AS HONESTLY AS U CAN, if u feel the same way as me, pls do not hesitate in answering it, for the love of HD anime, we need hatsukoi and phantom in bluray format.

@Uruhara
Well, that’s the beauty of DVDs (or BDs or containers like mkv or any other disc or container type which allows you to choose which audio track you want to listen to). You can choose whether you watch the sub or the dub. Personally, I prefer dubs, but I’ll watch subs if that’s all there is, and while Funimation isn’t perfect, they generally do a good job. However, anyone who thinks that dubs are the worst thing since they forgot how to slice bread can just ignore their existence and watch the subs. Freedom of choice is wonderful. In any case, until they’re actually released on DVD or Blu-ray or whatnot, all we get is fansubs anyway (and obviously those are subs).
As for Blu-ray, I eagerly await the time when shows are released in the US in full HD as a matter of course, but Blu-ray is still in its infancy – particularly in the anime industry, so it’ll be awhile before much is released in it. I believe that for the most part, only movies (and generally more popular, classic movies as opposed new ones) are being released on Blu-ray when it comes to anime. Funimation is on the forefront of that however, so progress is being made. Samurai 7 has been released on Blu-ray after all. Within a couple of years, we may see new series on Blu-ray, but not this year I expect. Of course, new shos like Phantom likely won’t be out on DVD (or Blu-ray) in the US until next year anyway even if they’ve been licensed for DVD release (and Phantom has only been announced for streaming release thus far – though I can’t imagine that Funimation will get the streaming license and not the DVD license).

answered the survey…
hatsukoi…very nice series.
phantom…it got licensed after menclave released 2 episodes (after which they took it off the tracker)
queen’s blade & basquash. why can’t any hq group do those 2?
April 26th, 2009 at 4:41 am
answered the survey. better start tl ep 21 =P
April 26th, 2009 at 4:51 am
Did the survey your way, can I have the episode now?!
While I would love to have the DVDs on Blu-ray, and I have a player… finally, I don’t think enough people have the TV, the player, or both to enjoy HD or have the shows made/remade in HD. That’s just my opinion though. I find that SD works for me, for now. When more shows are made in HD and the economy is right I can see all the old shows and current shows being put on HD. I can’t afford to go rebuy the DVDs I have now on BR and then the new ones as well. While the HD looks a little better I can’t see spending more money when I can’t always tell the difference. I’d rather buy 2-3 series in SD than one in HD and only have it a little better.
As for subs or dubs, depends on my mood. If I feel lazy I watch the dubs, and if I have the tv all to myself or I want to punish my friends I watch the subs. I do like to watch it in both forms to see how the dubs differ from the fan subs and the company translators. Sometimes it’s funny to see the changes, but then there are the face palm times as well.

This is the kind of thing that drives people to just watch the coalguys speedsubs for the last eps, despite how bad they are. I mean a fansub group trying to get people to fill surveys crosses a line.
April 26th, 2009 at 7:12 am
dont whine, they are doing this for free, its the least we can do.
keep up the good work
April 26th, 2009 at 7:37 am
Frequently, the best subs are the slow subs, though not always. They’ll get it done when they get it done. In the meantime, they appear to be making a joke out of the fact that they’re being slow.
April 26th, 2009 at 10:14 am
Filled the survey and had Phantom and Hatsukoi in the choices, despite me never watching those, though Hatsukoi has cute girls, no?
But if it means you guys will at last release your excellent work, I’ll gladly do it.
While I may have watched that other quicker sub group for Toradora, I’m gonna stick with your version for my DVD-ROM “back-up”. So keep up the good work and take your time. (Am also watching your Ga-Rei Zero DVD versions)

@ suiton:
“queen’s blade & basquash. why can’t any hq group do those 2?”
the fuck. never heard about umai?
April 26th, 2009 at 11:27 am
@Mr.Bob:
A little difference? I suggest you buy some glasses.
@To state the obvious:
Agreed. I’m only downloading their releases for the superior quality, but some times I feel disrespected by their actions. I know this is free and that they have no strings attached or responsibilities, but sometimes it’s just too much. I just hope they had at least a trace of consideration for the people who watch their releases, instead of treating us like little stupid toys.
@Kalessin:
I do hope it’s a joke.
With all that said, I’m looking forward for the day F10 grow up and release the episode.
April 26th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Whatever.
I’m not from US anyway, so I don’t really care what you guys get licensed and/or released in your country.
Filled the survey.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
Sames goes for here.
It sucks living outside of the US. I am free from their freakin’ laws since I am on a third world country. In fact, BUMination won’t even let me watch on their site.
Nevertheless, it would be nice if someone can sell it to me here. No one licenses anime here on my $%^&*( country.
By the way, I filled up the survey as requested. I will be supporting any releases that you are going to make in the future. In fact, you are my only hope because that’s the only way that I can watch shows.
April 26th, 2009 at 7:15 pm
Done with your silly survey…
Thank you for your work ^^ I hope td21 gets realeased safe and sound…
As a side note, I totally think US dubs are the lamest thing on earth… that’s right I’m not from the US and couldn’t care less about the format they realease a series (DVD/BR), anyways I hope you get your blu ray thingies.
April 27th, 2009 at 1:33 am
Waah, that’s rude, give it to us pleaaaase! I want Taiga-chan!
April 27th, 2009 at 1:35 am
BTW, german dubs are even MORE lame, it’s like “oh, ok, I read those lines because I get some bucks for it: bla bla bla”…
April 27th, 2009 at 6:03 am
i have to agree with Suiton about Queen’s Blade….indeed, Basquash DOES have a good group taking care f it…but what about Queen’s Blade? the only group we can rely on for quality is [Russian-Subs], but we don’t even know if the subs are accurate (yea, the subs are in english)……
anyway, i took the survey (even though i already saw ToraDora by Coalguys..i am keeping it from AniYoshi though? T_T
April 27th, 2009 at 6:04 am
note for previous comment: russian subs release the highest quality of QB so far, but even that doesn’t really seem as great as it should..
April 27th, 2009 at 8:04 am
Well, it’s no suprise if Queen’s Blade is treated badly. It’s basically hentai without the sex. It’s like it’s trying to make the record for the most nudity possible on TV without being censored (and it’s bound to have more when it’s released on DVD). Apparently aasasubs is having trouble doing it because their female members felt insulted by it. Chihiro dropped it because it was they thought that it was so bad that it was a total waste of their time.
Queen’s Blade is pure fanservice and basically nothing else, and there are plenty of groups who would rather spend their time on something more classy. It wouldn’t suprise me if a group became more interested in it when the DVDs start coming out (particularly given how few groups have been willing to touch it and how it’s selling points will be even more present on the DVDs), but for now, I think that it’s pretty much a case of it being so bad that almost no one will touch it.
April 27th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Filled out the survey, though it doesn’t mean crap to me, as I don’t live in the US. I wonder when these companies (and unfortunately, many fansub groups) are gonna learn that there are in excess of 6 100 000 000 people NOT living in the US, many of whom are more technologically advanced than the average American?
ToraDora now?
April 27th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
filled the survey
I hope you get the shows on bd. I live in germany an though there are some dvds with sucking dubs and subs for just 33 us dollar i hope we will get a few hd shows
April 27th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
Filled out the survey – now where’s my Toradora!
April 27th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Just so you know, just because FUNimation licenses something doesn’t mean a Blu-ray release.
In fact, they only seem to put older stuff that they’ve already released on budget DVD sets on that format.
The only instant series release from them has been Shigurui, but the quality isn’t that great on those since they only used 2 discs… :/
You also need to take into account what sort of master the Japanese license holder provides them with. For example, alot have been giving them SD material since no Blu-ray version exists in Japan for many shows, and since both countries are the same reason, the Japanese fear importation, due to the extreme differences in pricing schemes.
Anyway, just thought I’d point that out before people go spamming a survey in hope of something they may or may not get.
Ps. Keep up the good work.
