WHY?!
Out of all the Innovators that could’ve died during their assault against Celestial Being, why did it have to be Anew? I was hoping that she will end up together with Lyle at the end of the series. It just saddens me since Anew is one of my favorite character. I’m hoping that she will come back, like how Mwu la Flaga (from Gundam SEED) did when his Gundam was shot down (he returned as Neo Roanoke). Alternatively, she could come back by making another version of her. After all, the Innovators are created using nanotechnology. Their memory might’ve been preserved, since they are invariably linked to Veda. The technology to create an Innovator is probably at Veda’s location; how to use it is probably contained in Veda’s Level 7 information. Whatever it takes, I really hope she’ll come back.
By the way, Lyle and Anew’s scene is remarkably similar to Kira Yamato and Flay Allster’s scene in Gundam SEED. Both women were shot down; the main difference is that the antagonist did it in Gundam SEED, while the protagonist did it Gundam 00.

SETSUNA DIES
February 26th, 2009 at 1:19 am
Well, it’s not like killing off love interests is a new thing in Gundam shows. I certainly wish that they hadn’t killed her off, but that entire situation was specifically set up to have as much emotional impact as possible. In addition, given how Saji was reacting to the situation, it’s likely that we’ll end up with Ribbons controlling Louise at some point in a similar situation which will likely be intended to parallel this one (hopefully in that case, she’ll survive). It looked like the 00 Raiser’s super dense GN particles in trans-am mode cut Ribbons off, so that may be used in the future to stop this sort of thing happening again. Unfortunately, in this case, Setsuna wasn’t fast enough. If he hadn’t shot whene he did, we would have lost a second Lockon instead of Anew.

Oh, and as much as I liked Mu La Flaga returning, it was incredibly lame in that it was one of the most obvious deaths in any Gundam show. They had to retcon the situation in the Gundam Seed movies so that we didn’t see his bloody helmet. And as much as I would have liked to have seen Anew survive, I think that it would be stupid to have clone of her with her memories take her place would be stupid. Of course, I’m generally against anything which takes the idea that a person can be copied like that since it basically negates the idea of a soul. In any case, it was sad to see Anew go, but hopefully no other major good characters end up dying.

Why is AnimeYoshi posting about Gundam 00?
February 26th, 2009 at 5:00 am
@suiton
Because talking about Gundam00 is more important than catching up on subbing any of their current shows. Quite the obvious answer if you ask me. (No sarcasm intended, well… maybe a little)
Characters in the Gundam series have a bad habit of not staying dead, I figure something might happen with Revive Revival seeing as how her and Anew were the same type. Then again, recently Sunrise has been taking a new approach in which the dead stay dead, surprise surprise, especially in regards to Code Geass and R2. I have a feelings she might be dead for good, but can’t be sure of anything when it comes to death in a Sunrise anime.

Oh yeah, and naked spirit touching FTW, all good animes need at least one scene, and Gundam just takes that to a whole new level, lol.

@suiton:
Because G00 is awesome and because it’s their blog.
February 26th, 2009 at 6:21 am
well it’s good that both couple had their last sex in zero G enviroment
February 26th, 2009 at 7:23 am
Female characters get pathetically killed without getting enough development. Kinoe Crossroad, Wang Liu-Mei (I do hope she is dead), Anew. Males get pathetically resurrected. Mr. Bushido, Patrick Corwhatevar. Sigh.

Wtf, somebody who likes Gundam SHIIIIIT’s art style?!
February 26th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
@TGEN
What do you mean “Gundam SHIIIIIT’s art style”? It’s pretty generic stuff, could you tell me what falls into the non-SHIIIIIT art style?
February 26th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Damn you F10, stop spoiling Gundam for me… =P
While it is worth it, waiting for Menclave sure is a pain.
February 26th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
the deal is…
who needs menclave??????
February 26th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Those who don’t know Japanese and don’t really like gSS, I guess.
Seriously though, if I wasn’t willing to wait for quality releases I would go with other groups for Toradora and Yoichi too.
February 27th, 2009 at 8:51 am
@Hamlon:
It’s good to know that there are still people (like you) who wait in order to get releases with the best quality. The numbers are dwindling, however, as more people turn to speedsubs.
February 27th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
me in a work trip atm lolol…. i’m in michigan so can’t fagsub at all till sunday evening.
February 27th, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Shinsen’s quality is great and they come out every week. Why not go with them?
February 27th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
Sure, Shinsen is decent enough. It’s just that their subs are generally a bit too localized for my taste. I also followed Menclave during the first season and don’t really feel like switching unless I have to.
February 28th, 2009 at 6:12 am
Is it true that you guys are planning to do these series?
Fullmetal Alchemist (2009)
Hatsukoi Gentei
February 28th, 2009 at 7:46 am
Why would the Spinal, the group leader, add them to the wiki if they weren’t planning to do the series? AnimeYoshi aren’t trolls like some other groups out there…
February 28th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
It could have been a miscommunication or a mistake all together. Unless it is officially stated on the site that they are picking up new series, I still stay on the suspicious side on whether or not they will be doing another project.
Besides, AnimeYoshi is already booked with their current projects, and they have recently dropped a few projects. They’re already “behind” (as in behind with the # of episodes releaesd on Japanese broadcoast) with things and I was wondering if they could afford to work on 2 more projects.
And no, I never accused of AnimeYoshi trolling for posting anything. Don’t go around putting words into other people’s mouths or making assumptions without cause.
The assumptions that I’ve made all had causes.
February 28th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
I had to switch from menclave to shinsen. it was gettin ridiculous. I don’t mind minor delays of maybe a week or so for quality but c’mon. I’ll still pick them up for archiving and when I watch the series a second time when all the seasons are over.
But in I stay away from speed subs as much as possible. I think that as I’ve gotten closer to not needing subs at all poor subbing has bothered me more and more even though i know what there actualluy saying regardless. wierd huh?
O and if your wondering why i get subs at all if i don’t need them, its cuz if a show is good enough I end up rewatching it with my bro or makin dvd’s for my friends. besides its nice not to have to think about translating while i watch.
March 1st, 2009 at 1:43 am
Anew was 1000% less bitchy, manipulative, spoilt & morally bankrupt vs. Fllay. Raw le creuset deserves a medal for offing that gal.
As for making an Anew clone for Lyle, c’mon it’s just not the same person. Lyle might as well f### male Anew innovator. Anyway, no difference when doing it from the back kkk
March 2nd, 2009 at 2:47 am
@sution: There’s posts about G00 likely because there’s no work to be done by the staff posting about it. Things have been slow due to translators being unreliable (or so I’ve heard). TLs were the real reason behind dropping a shit load of stuff this season (or so I’ve heard).
As for a quick project status update… uhm…. NO! I’m not nice unlike Spinal and Takashi.
