Zomg, Contractions, Nurses and Essential Truths?
BT:
[AniYoshi]_Ga-Rei_Zero_-_07_[FDE80ED6].mkv
Fun Fact: Did you know that the AniYoshi GRZ staff quite literally spends hours debating the finer points of crazy grammatical stuff we all ignored in high school?
Why would you do that, you didn’t ask?
Well, I’m pretending you did, so my answer to your phantom-self is: “Because we strive to not only get the translation right, but also to get the tone, flow and where possible sentence structure to match the original.”
Why should I care, you also don’t ask?
No particular reason. But you could rest assured that when, for example, someone says, “What is the meaning of this?” they’re using a harsher tone than if they used “What’s … ”.
Yo. I want to say, “That’s another example of AY quality,” but instead I feel compelled
to quote Soichioro: Orz.
Yozakura Quartet DROPPED.
And some bad news for people who are waiting for Yozakura Quartet, we decided to drop this project because of the translator, who doesn’t have much free time this season. We are sorry but there is another good group subbing this AonE #animeone@irc.rizon.net so I suggest you get their release. Thanks.

Thank you for releasing the new episode. Also, thank you for making sure that the translation is as accurate as possible.

Is this the uncensored one?
November 28th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
You need a comma before “but”
November 28th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
No we don’t do uncensored, only crap raws available for that one and
lol @ sangofe

Comma where? Not in the ep unless there is a ‘but’ that Find doesn’t find. Not that I’m claiming any release will be perfect, but /confused.

Yes, you guys are super awesome in your quality, presentation, blah blah blah and I’ve always respected you greatly for that but, the big BUT is that you guys aren’t really trustworthy when it comes to series as you can drop them like nothing, that can be a lot disappointing.
November 28th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
@Mega-Japan
Thank you for the compliments.
Yes, of course dropping any project is disappointing, but we have our hands tied behind our back here. We can’t really release stuff when our translator is too busy to give us scripts. Had there been no other alternative group, there would be consideration for finding a new translator and attempting to catch up. But alas, AonE is a very good group who we think are capable of subbing Yozakura. If you like our quality and presentation, you’ll have no problem switching over to AonE
Rest assured, we’ll only drop a project for serious reasons; like key members being unable to fansub in their free time.

Thanks for releasing GrZ. You guys are even faster than Aero Subs now @.@
November 28th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
“Yozakura Quartet DROPPED.” = more time for Gai-Rei Zero & ToraDora.
=)
Anyway, to those who were fans of the series, and followed AnimeYoshi…It must suck.
But consider that you were getting it for free. The only thing you had to spend was your time waiting for a release, and time & internet connection to d/l the episode.
But on the bright side, AnimeYoshi is still releasing HQ anime episodes.
…
@AnimeYoshi staff
Congratz on another epic release of Ga Rei Zero.

“Thanks for releasing GrZ. You guys are even faster than Aero Subs now @.@”
Sad how 9 days is the fastest sub for ep 7.
As for the “untrustworthines” of dropping, that’s only happened like last season and this season. If you look at projects pages, AniYoshi finished subbing every series they started BEFORE Summer 2008.
Seriously tho, AonE does a good job (as they always do); although, imo, we had the better release on YQ. It’s just not possible to release when you don’t have a Translator.

@sangofe: The missing comma before “but” in release post (We are sorry but there is another good group subbing this….) does not neccessarily need to be a comma; however, the comma gives best “form” when it comes to writing in the English language as starting sentences with “But” and “And” is generally frowned upon. Although such sentences are grammatically correct, one should avoid it where possible. In anycase, why do you even care if our release post had a typo?
